Finance leadership for hotels, from pre-opening to AI automation.
I'm a hotel finance executive with more than ten years of experience, working my way up from staff accountant to Director of Finance. I have been part of three Austin hotel openings, twice as opening Director of Finance and once as opening Assistant Controller, on properties with residences and multiple food and beverage outlets, ranging from 89 rooms to a 244-room hotel with 99 residences and five outlets.
My work sits between operations and ownership. I build pre-opening and annual budgets, rolling forecasts and capital plans with general managers, management companies and owners, then put in the reporting, internal controls and SOPs that make those numbers reliable. I have led accounting, PMS and POS system integrations and trained department managers to own their own forecasts and budgets.
I work within USALI, GAAP and SOX standards and hold an MBA from West Texas A&M University. The scenarios on this site are the same work, done with AI doing the assembly and me doing the judgement.
